The title will be changed when the characters are introduced.
Snitch slipped through the trees as quietly as he possibly could. His tail rattled noisily behind him. Stupid chain. It was useless when he wanted to sneak around, especially when he had no idea where he was. As a robot, he was far from the stereotype, he looked human, aside from the metal-tinge to his skin and his eyes glowing a pale yellow behind the eyeholes cut from his hat, and he knew nothing about everything. He was made simply for conducting and fixing trains. Train yards were not forests, and he was clueless of what a forest even was.

Amaranth peeked out carefully, trying to catch a glimpse of whatever it was making that sound. Curiously, it had a scent like none she had smelled.... Or had she? It was vaguely familiar, like a dream from long ago.
Wether she had or not, she couldn't give the scent a name. Rattle, rattle, rattle. She tucked a perfect red curl behind her ear. It was closer than it had been last time, so she tried the lure again. Softly, she began to sing with the voice of an angel.
You found my corner, stranger to this wood, Fear not! I shan't harm you Lest it needs be I should. Come sit by my side, stranger, I sing you to sleep. Come rest from your travels; Let your slumbers be deep.

Snitch heard a voice, not too far, but not exactly close. He was entranced by the soft voice, going towards what he thought may be the source, hoping to find who or what had such a beautiful voice. He kept walking towards the voice, almost tripping on fallen branches, getting his tail caught on one that was particularly difficult to get it untangled.

Rattle, rattle. Amaranth peeked down from her branch again to see a boy a little ways off-- or was it? He looked strange to her; he smelled strange, too. She stopped singing, and jumped down from her hiding spot, swiftly moving through the underbrush to where he was wrestling with a chain of some sort that was caught. A wepon, she thought, is he poaching in my woods?
Hiding behind the tree who had dropped the branch he was tangled in, she watched, trying to determin his purpose for being armed in a protected forest.

Snitch tugged at his tail, finally hearing the branch snap and his tail be released, throwing him off balance and and onto the forest floor. He sat up and picked away the wood that remained in his tail, looking around as he noticed the singing had stopped.

Amaranth drew back in surprize. It was a tail! It was attatched! She backed up in alarm, snapping a twig under her bare feet, then tripping over something and scraping her uncovered knee. "Ow!" she shouted involuntarily.

Snitch turned his attention to the noise, "hello?" He asked, voice with a slight metallic ring to it, getting up and walking slowly to where the sound resonated.

Amaranth slowly stood up, trying to decide what to do. Should she interrogate the new comer or run away? Hearing footsteps coming her direction, she froze, still unsure what to do.

Snitch walked a little closer, "Are you hurt?" He asked, hoping to get an answer, not sure if the mysterious being would want his help or even to be seen. He got close enough to look at her, giving her knee a concerned look.

He was too close for Amaranth to still consider running. She slowly formed a sentancein her head, then spoke, "Wh-what are you doing here?" She incher her way over to a tree and braced herself against it. A bird flitted down to a lower branch to greet her and still be out of the way of the stranger. It chirped softly, giving her the courage to stand a little taller. "This forest is under the protection of me, the Amaranth of Innocent Light. If you have hurt...." She dropped off, gazing into inhuman eyes. She inhaled sharply, her nose filled with the scent of inorganic materials and faraway.
A moment of panic invaded her senses before she realized, this thing-- wether it was a monster or just a machine- was just lost. Softening up, she repeated, "What are you doing here?"
